Royal fans set record straight on 2nd season of Meghan Markle’s Netflix show | Royal | News

Although it has been announced by The Duchess of Sussex that season two of ‘With Love, Meghan’ will return to Netflix in the autumn, royal fans have claimed the next series is “not a renewal”. Social media users have shared their real thoughts behind the quick announcement of the new series – detailed only a few days after the launch of the show. ‘With Love Meghan’ premiered on March 4 on the streaming platform and showcases Meghan with old and new friends as she cooks, hosts, and makes memories with them.

Social media users on X have claimed season two of Meghan’s show is “not a renewal”. One stated: “It was a 2 season commission. They’re airing what they’ve already filmed months ago. It’s not a renewal.” Another said: “You know it’s already been filmed and in the bag as an extension of “series” 1, so no it hasn’t been recommissioned until series 3 is announced.” Another user on X added: “Netflix didn’t renew for a 2nd season, they had already filmed 16 episodes in January.”

The comments arise as the media outlet Tudum by Netflix wrote on March 7 that the second season of ‘With Love, Meghan’ had “completed filming”.

The 43-year-old Duchess of Sussex recently celebrated the first season entering the streamer’s top 10, but in a new video uploaded on Instagram, Meghan expressed her excitement to her fans.

Posting the news to her 2.3million followers, Meghan, wore a personalised baseball cap embroidered with the pun ‘Lettuce, Romaine Calm’ on the front and ‘As Ever, Meghan’ on the back. She conducted a little dance as she turned her back to the camera to reveal the words on her cap. Alongside the video, Meghan captioned the post: “Lettuce romaine calm…or not(!) because I’m thrilled to share that Season 2 of ‘With Love, Meghan’ is coming!”

Guests in the first series included Hollywood actress and producer Mindy Kaling, celebrity chef Roy Choi, designer Tracy Robbins and cosmetics entrepreneur Victoria Jackson.

It comes as the show has received a mixture of reviews. Review website, Rotten Tomatoes, gave the show a rating of 28 percent, with one critic writing, “The show simultaneously stains for aspiration and reliability in a way that never gels”. A review in The Guardian described it as a “gormless lifestyle filler” while The Telegraph gave it two stars and branded it “insane” and an “exercise in narcissism”.

Meghan Markle has also unveiled the first products for sale from her much-anticipated lifestyle business, As Ever, with the launch coinciding with the Netflix show.

The key offering from the business, which is partnered with Netflix, is raspberry spread in a ‘keepsake packaging’ bearing the As Ever logo – but Meghan offers many of the items featured in the show, with crêpe mix, flower sprinkles, and jam.

The business’s branding was updated recently, with the brand name changing from American Riviera Orchard to the new name. The new logo depicts two hummingbirds underneath a palm tree, thought to symbolise Meghan’s everlasting love with Prince Harry.

Back in April 2024, when Meghan first announced American Riviera Orchard, she sent out hampers bearing pots of jam to her closest friends, including celebrities Kris Jenner and Mindy Kaling.
