Royal | News - Prince Ricardo De La Cerda
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been criticised by a US media publication that was once in their favour for their “tortured attempts” at becoming successful in the US.
The Cut, who once portrayed Meghan very positively in a 2022 interview with the duchess just two years after she quit life as a senior royal, have now written negatively about the mum-of-two following the launch of the couple’s latest Netflix series Polo—a five-part series that follows the lives of those who are involved in the elitist sport.
While writer Danielle Cohen for The Cut said she does not feel “compelled” to watch the show, she mentioned its number of “horrific reviews” and said it could be bound for the same fate as Meghan’s American Riviera Orchard brand, which has yet to launch its products.
Cohen wrote in an article for The Cut: “Personally, I haven’t felt compelled to watch Polo, but according to critics, it is ‘tedious,’ ‘mostly boring,’ and ‘destined to fall through the submenus into obscurity at the speed of light.’ Yikes.
“Though the couple co-produced the show, it seems to have been more of Harry’s pet project — he’s a longtime polo player and apparently ‘had a vision’ — but neither he nor his wife appear much in the series at all, eliciting even more criticism. I hope her cooking show goes better?”
