The Sussexes appear to be on a mission to strike deals and improve their Hollywood prospects. But it’s too early to tell if their appearance on the red carpet in Jamaica has helped or hampered their efforts as one royal expert warned that support was haemorrhaging away.
Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams said that Harry and Meghan need to focus on other ways to get their name in the spotlight.
Speaking to GB News he said that they needed to find new outlets rather than relying on “continued attacks” on the Royal Family to make headlines.
He said: “The only thing they are doing as far as I can see with Invictus, Prince Harry already had that. So they have not done anything, they lost Spotify. Will they lose Netflix? The contract runs out in 2025. It is rather bewildering their silence.”
Harry and Meghan signed lucrative deals with Netflix and Spotify soon after their arrival in America after striking out on their own away from royal duties.
But their Spotify deal hit the skids last year and their Netflix partnership ends in 2025 with just two projects in the bag.
The pair attended the premiere of Bob Marley: One Love in Jamaica earlier this month which raised eyebrows as they cosied up to the Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness who was at the front of a bid to rid the country of the UK monarchy.
