Meghan Markle’s latest venture is a “step down” from the “pedestal” she was once on, a royal commentator has told GB News, as she unveiled her strawberry jam from her brand American Riviera Orchard.

She and Prince Harry have signed several million dollar partnerships since leaving the Royal Family, with entertainment giants such as Netflix, but now Meghan appears to have made the move towards lifestyle.

She sent out 50 jars of her jam to a selection of friends and social media influencers, with royal expert Michael Cole pointing out it is all to do with the Netflix deal they signed.

The couple have also revealed that they are making two new programmes for the platform, one of which will be a cooking and entertainment show linked with Meghan’s new brand.

Mr Cole said: “One of the things they’re selling is themselves, that is their unique selling point, the fact they have royal status, and they’re going to have to work at it very hard.”

He added: “If it’s good it will sell, and why not? But it’s quite a step down from the pedestal they once had.”
