OPINION: As if we don’t have enough to worry about with this fragile world in which we all live, there they are, front and centre, Megs and Haz in a blaze of paparazzi flashes and whizbangs. The Big Apple saw these two pitch up for the TIME 100 event, where Megs was due to drop her voluminous pearls of wisdom as a guest speaker. The TIME 100 website states: “The fifth-annual TIME100 Summit will feature leaders from the global TIME community to spotlight solutions and encourage action toward a better world.”

Included in the lofty word salad of verbosity is the announcement of “speakers for the daylong event” including “Meghan, Duchess of Sussex and founder of As Ever, actor and producer”. Bleep me, but that’s a mouthful. It remained to be seen, of course, what she had to say, but that seemed to be very much a secondary consideration, since it merely obscured the real objective of promoting Brand Sussex. But ok, let’s go with the flow.
