The extended British Royal Family joined King Frederik IX and Queen Ingrid of Denmark for a Gala Performance of the Royal Danish Ballet at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden in London on this day in 1968, which came quite a few years after the British State Visit to Denmark in 1957 and the last Danish State Visit to Britain in 1951.

King Frederik IX (in the Order of the Garter) and Queen Ingrid of Denmark (wearing the Danish Ruby Parure) sat beside Queen Elizabeth II (in Queen Alexandra’s Kokoshnik Tiara, the Greville Diamond Chandelier Earrings and the King George VI Festoon Necklace) and the Queen Mother (wearing the Greville Tiara and Queen Alexandra’s Wedding Necklace).
Other Royal attendees included Princess Anne (in the Pakistani Turquoise Necklace) and Princess Margaret (wearing the Turquoise Parure) as well as Prince George and Princess Anne of Denmark (in her Diamond Tiara and Diamond Necklace), and also Ruth, Lady Fermoy (wearing the Fermoy Tiara).
