PRINCE Andrew has today paid tribute to his mother the Queen a year on from her death.

The Duke of York – famously the Queen’s favourite child – was joined by a number of Royal Family members at Windsor.

It comes after William and Kate joined a private church service at St David’s Cathedral in Wales, to commemorate her life while Charles and Camilla attended a service in Scotland.

Prince Harry had been at Windsor earlier this morning, paying his respects at his grandmother’s final resting place.

He has since been seen arriving in Germany, where he will launch the Invictus Games tomorrow.

Despite Charles being the first-born and heir to the throne, it’s believed that she actually had a closer relationship with Andrew, who is 11 years younger.

Previously royal experts have said that Andrew was his mother’s favourite.

Princess Diana’s former butler, Paul Burrell added: “Andrew has always been the Queen’s favourite son and he has never done anything wrong in her eyes.”

Journalist Penny Junor said: “I think the Queen has always had a bit of a blindspot when it comes to Prince Andrew.”
