Royals often spend much of their day to day time attending engagements that many of us would consider mundane, with visits to waste sorting facilities and park openings. However, Queen Maxima of the Netherlands continues to prove why she is perfect for the role with her enthusiasm, dedication, and energy at every engagement.
Earlier this week, Queen Maxima opened a new factory in Delfzijl where polyethylene furanoate (PEF), an alternative to kerosene-based plastics, will be made. PEF is a plastic created from vegetables and has a cyclical life making it a far more sustainable option.

The Dutch Queen looked happy to be at the new factory for the official opening, with big smiles throughout the entire engagement. She energetically chatted with staff members as she learned more during her tour, giving her full attention to each person she spoke with.

Queen Maxima never shies away from a strong fashion moment, wherever she may be. She chose one of her favourite outerwear pieces, her reversible Natan x Alicia Audrey wool cape in navy and grey.

She also wore a stunning black Oscar de la Renta day dress that features large lace applique flowers with long sleeves and a gentle A-line silhouette.
Her Majesty did not shy away on the jewellery side, either. Maxima wore one of her favourite pairs of earrings, a vibrant square tanzanite set in a border of diamonds at the bottom of a drop of diamonds.
