Queen Mary of Denmark started off her weekend with a party as she attended the University of Copenhagen’s annual celebration.
The University of Copenhagen was founded in 1479. Every year, it holds a ceremony that commemorates the event, held in the Ceremonial Hall of the University at Frue Plads.
The ceremony includes a lecture, as well a scholarship and prize ceremony. This year, a professor from the Institute of Political Science, Lene Hansen, gave a lecture on “Images, emotions and international security”.
Then, another party is held elsewhere in the evening.
The commemoration is held on the second Friday of November each year, and a member of the Danish Royal Family always attends.
Queen Mary looked happy to be visiting the university as she was all smiles on Friday afternoon.
The Danish queen went back into her closet for an elegant re-wear on Friday but with a twist. She wore her Beulah London Yahvi Midi Dress in an olive green colour.
While the original midi dress features full-length fluted sleeves, Mary has adjusted her dress to three-quarter sleeves.
She also chose a favourite pair of shoes that she has worn countless times: her Gianvito Rossi Gianvito 105 pumps.
On her arrival, she was wearing her Oscar de la Renta camel hair cape.
