The Queen of Denmark is celebrating her birthday and there’s a brand new portrait to prove it. Queen Mary celebrates on February 5th and he Danish Royal Family has released a new photo taken at Amalienborg Palace.
The new portrait was taken by Danish photographer Steen Evald and shows the Danish Queen sitting on the arm of a sofa.
While Mary’s other portraits as Queen have been more formal, she does not have any of the Crown Jewels with her for the occasion.
Rather, she has chosen personal jewels for the portrait, including yellow gold bangles and diamond and gold drop earrings.
Queen Mary’s ruby and diamond engagement ring, a perfect match for the Danish flag, is on display, as well.
Her Majesty is embracing winter whites, with a bright white, voluminous blouse with a mock shawl collar and wide fluted sleeves. She paired the top with a pleated pale pink lace midi skirt.
The Danish Royal Family has entered a new chapter this week. Crown Prince Christian arrived at the Antvorskov barracks earlier to begin his military training. He is set to complete four months of basic military training.
