Queen Letizia and Infanta Sofia celebrate with Spain after famous World Cup win – Royal Central

Queen Letizia has helped present the World Cup trophy to Spain after a famous win in Sydney and ended up in the middle of a soccer scrum as celebrations continued.

The Queen of Spain attended the final with her younger daughter, Infanta Sofia.

They cheered as Spain beat England 1-0 in the final at Stadium Australia.

The Spanish royals then made their way to the podium for the presentations.

They then hugged every member of the winning Spanish squad as they collected their medals. Infanta Sofia held a Spanish flag throughout the presentation.

The Spanish queen then joined in the presentation of the trophy before heading into the middle of the squad and holding the cup aloft herself for a famous photo.

It’s a first Women’s World Cup for the Spanish side with a first half goal from Olga Carmona proving crucial. Mary Earps saved a penalty for England in the second half but, after 13 minutes of injury time, the win went to Spain.
