The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh were on a two-week Tour of Canada on this day in 1973, 50 years ago, to celebrate the Centenary of Prince Edward Island’s entry into Confederation, the Tercentenary of the City of Kingston, and the Centennial of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. The Queen and Duke were back in Canada later that month for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting 1973.
