Queen Camilla’s son, Tom Parker-Bowles, shared a revealing insight into his mother’s no-nonsense approach to her royal duties, describing her as a “grafter” who simply “gets on with the job.”

The 77-year-old Queen, now in a role that many would find overwhelming, has instead embraced it with determination, even as most people her age are retiring.

Speaking on The Chris Evans Breakfast Show on Virgin Radio UK, Tom, 49, reflected on his mother’s strong work ethic and the philosophy she has always imparted.

“Just get on with it, do it, don’t talk about it, don’t moan about it,” Tom quoted, noting that becoming Queen has not changed her direct and resilient nature.

During the interview, Parker-Bowles highlighted how his mother’s attitude towards work remains the same as it always has, despite her new royal responsibilities.

“She hasn’t changed. I think her job description has perhaps changed, but she’s the same,” he said, adding that her energy and dedication are remarkable for someone at her age.

“She’s a grafter,” Tom said, praising her resilience and commitment.

Tom’s comments offer a glimpse into Queen Camilla’s ability to adapt to the high demands of royal life with her characteristic pragmatism.

Even with her increasingly public schedule, Camilla’s straightforward, no-fuss mindset seems to be the key to her successful transition into her new role as Queen Consort alongside King Charles III.

Tom also spoke about his mother’s strength during what has been a challenging year for the family.

He described her as “tough” for being by King Charles’ side after the announcement of his health issues earlier this year.

Buckingham Palace confirmed in February that King Charles had been diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer, but Parker-Bowles assured listeners that “the doctor says the treatment is going well.”

Despite the health concerns, Tom emphasised that both King Charles and Queen Camilla remain fully committed to their roles, with Camilla supporting her husband every step of the way.

He praised the monarch’s dedication to sustainability and food security, noting that Charles practices what he preaches when it comes to environmental issues.

“It’s not the King just paying lip service, he practices what he preaches,” Tom said.
