Happy Birthday to Princess Madeleine of Sweden, the Duchess of Hälsingland and Gästrikland, who celebrates her 42nd Birthday today! The glamorous younger daughter of the Swedish King and Queen has worn some spectacular royal heirlooms, but her collection also includes striking modern pieces like these versatile Pendant Earrings!
These striking Earrings are each composed of a line of nine diamonds, from which either a large rectangular-cut Aquamarine of a larger round pearl pendant is suspended. The provenance of the Earrings is unknown, but since they were first debuted around her Wedding, it is suspected that they were a Wedding Gift, possibly from her groom, Christopher O’Neill, alongside the Modern Fringe Tiara she received from her parents.
Princess Madeleine debuted the Earrings with the Aquamarine Pendants during a Dinner hosted by King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia at The Grand Hotel in Stockholm, on the eve of the Wedding of Princess Madeleine and Christopher O’Neill.
Two years later, Princess Madeleine wore the Pendant Earrings with a large Pearl Pendant for the annual Formal Gathering of the Swedish Academy at the Stortorget in Stockholm.
Two years later, paired the Earrings with the Aquamarine Pendant and the Swedish Aquamarine Kokoshnik Tiara for the State Banquet at the Royal Palace of Stockholm during the Canadian State Visit to Sweden.
Later that year, Princess Madeleine wore the Pendant Earrings with the Aquamarine Pendant for the World Childhood Foundation USA Thank You Gala in New York City.
Most recently, Princess Madeleine wore the Earrings with the Pearl Pendant for a charity dinner in connection with the World Childhood Foundations 20th anniversary at the Tyrol restaurant in Stockholm. There is no doubt we will continue to see the wearing worn for years to come!
