Mr Harrold, who worked for the King when he was the Prince of Wales between 2004-2011, said that Christmas parties with the royals were always “hysterical good fun”, however no one ever got “drunk”.
While a number of royals are set to be at Sandringham for the big day, Prince Harry has reportedly not made it onto the guest list this year, marking his sixth Christmas away from his royal relatives.
Instead, it is believed that the prince – who quit life as a senior royal in 2020 alongside his wife Meghan Markle – will spend the festive season at his Montecito mansion in California with their two children Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three.
Meghan’s mum Doria is also expected to visit the family for the festive season.
