Princess Kate wanted to send secret ‘message’ during latest appearance in London | Royal | News

Princess Kate showed her “desire to take the lead” and demonstrated a lot of “self-confidence” during her latest outing in London, a body language expert has claimed. The Princess of Wales visited the new V&A East Storehouse in Stratford, East London to learn about its ‘order an object’ system, where paintings, furniture, books and sculptures can be requested and a room set aside for viewing with staff.

More than 500,000 creative works, from individual items to whole collections like the Glastonbury Festival archive, are stored at the site. Kate, who is patron of the V&A, is known for her interest in the arts and chose to look at a number of items themed around nature, including a large William Morris sample book, rolls of ornate textiles and a musical instrument for the private moment.

The princess wore a smart trouser suit for the visit to the storehouse in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and wore stiletto heels despite the attraction’s website advising on flat shoes as the “metal grid flooring is not suitable for stilettos or kitten heels”.

Speaking to Betfair Casino, body language expert Darren Stanton said: “Kate looks super confident in this appearance. She’s wearing a blue suit, which tells us she wants to be authoritative in this situation.

“Blue is a colour of communication and calmness, so it’s clear Kate has shown a desire to take the lead and engage actively with those surrounding her with a lot of ease. Throughout this visit, she carried herself with a lot of self-confidence and strength.”

Elsewhere, Mr Stanton said that the future queen appeared to have a “natural curiosity” throughout her visit and that her body language showed that she “loves to connect with people”.

He explained: “We saw Kate actively engaging with the team, as we saw her crouching down to take a closer look and actively listening to what they had to say.

“This tells us she has a natural curiosity and interest in being there and representing the Royal Family solo.

“Kate is completely genuine; she displayed engaged and authentic smiles throughout. It’s clear Kate loves to connect with people, and this event was no exception. She’s happy to be there and to take on those responsibilities as the Princess of Wales.”
