In 2023, the Princess of Wales undertook 123 Royal Family engagements, but she finds the comparison of her workload to other members of the family “irritating” according to a source.

In particular, Princess Kate received criticism regarding the lack of engagements carried out compared to older members of the monarchy, for instance, Princess Anne – who carried out 457 royal duties as she lent steadfast to support her brother in his role.

Princess Kate has chosen to focus on selective causes that are close to her heart, alongside raising three happy children at the same time.

From taking part in a ‘Dad Walk’ during a visit to “Dadvengers” in London to help support new fathers in parenthood, to opening the new Children’s Day Surgery Unit at St Thomas’ Hospital in the capital, Princess Kate has conducted a variety of royal duties.

A source told the Daily Mail: “What the court circular numbers don’t show is the hours and hours she spends with the team designing the programmes you see in public.

“Like her husband, she is deep in the reeds of the planning, something which isn’t reflected in the number of engagements undertaken each year. It’s irritating.”

Princess Kate is set to look for a promotion as her role in the monarchy continues to grow.

Prince William and his wife are pivotal to King Charles’s new streamlined version of the Royal Family.

The Princess of Wales is set to have a “low-key” 42nd birthday on January 9, but changes are coming in the form of a “birthday promotion”.

Aside from the low-key celebrations, King Charles might even seal his daughter-in-law a brand-new position by appointing her as a Royal Lady of the Order of the Garter.

This title is the oldest and most senior Order of Chivalry in Britain and was first established almost 700 years ago by Edward III. The new appointment would cement her seniority in The Firm and is personally chosen by the monarch.

It will also place her alongside Queen Camilla, Princess Anne and Princess Alexandra.

As well as seeing royal duty as an important factor in her life, the Princess is known to want to prioritise being a mother to her three children.
