Princess Estelle of Sweden is taking on a very important role for her royal family – she will be godmother to her youngest cousin.
Estelle, who turned 13 in February, will be one of the sponsors to Princess Ines, the baby daughter of Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia.
Ines, who is four months old, will be baptised on June 13 2025, the tenth wedding anniversary of her parents.

The whole Swedish royal family is expected to attend the ceremony which takes place at Drottningholm Palace Chapel in Stockholm, the same place that Carl Philip and Sofia got married in 2015.
Princess Estelle was three at the time and was one of the bridesmaids for the couple. She enjoys a close bond with Princess Sofia and the two are often seen together at family events.

Now, the teenager is stepping into a very responsible role as she acts as godmother for her cousin. It’s the first time she’s been a godparent. She’ll be joined around the font by another of the bridesmaids from the royal wedding of Carl Philip and Sofia. Tiara Larsson, who is also a goddaughter of Princess Sofia, will be a sponsor to Ines.
Ines Marie Lilian Silvia was born on February 7 2025. The little princess is the fourth child of Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia and their first daughter – they were already parents to Prince Alexander, 9, Prince Gabriel, 7, and Prince Julien, 4.
The other godparents are Fredrik von der Esch, Claes Kockum and Sabine Kockum.
