Prince William made a hilarious admission on Wednesday as he helped carry out an ordinary task on his latest royal engagement. The Prince of Wales, 42, visited the Army Air Corps (ACC) in Wattisham, Suffolk, today in his role as its new colonel in chief.
The prince, who inherited the role from the King in 2024, checked in with soldiers on the visit and spent time talking to them and their families. The dad-of-three also spent time in the planning and executive tent, where he examined maps and technologies for tracking live locations of soldiers taking part in NATO training in Norway.
As well as this, William stepped back from the technical side of things and got involved in helping serve food at the Archer’s Breakfast – a weekly social event held by 664 Sqaudron for its personnel and their families.
The future King, who was dressed head to toe in military uniform, was not afraid to put on a pair of blue gloves and serve breakfast baps to soldiers and their families.
When asking people whether they wanted a sausage or bacon bap, the prince made a hilarious confession, admitting: “It’s making my mouth water.”
The comment was met with laughter from those in the room, with William continuing to hand out the tasty food to those present.
The ladies serving alongside the prince were impressed with his serving skills, saying that the future King was “spot on” and “had pace”.
While this may seem like a very ordinary task that most royals would not partake in, this is not the first time William has helped serve up food.
Last year, William sported an apron at The Passage – a shelter that helps homeless people – as he helped serve up festive lunches for those in need.
This is not believed to be the first time the prince has done this, with William having first visited the shelter with his mother the late Princess Diana in 1993.
