The Prince of Wales’s documentary, Prince William: We Can End Homelessness, is now available for global streaming on Disney+ (as well as on ITVx in the United Kingdom). During the two episode show, we are given insights into the Prince’s talents and dedication.
Many royal watchers remember the late Diana, Princess of Wales, for her empathy and ability to connect with people. However, it has become clear that Prince William has inherited that from her and has drawn on it to leave his mark.
As Prince of Wales, William launched Homewards, an organisation working to help end homelessness in the UK. He has turned to experts to lead the five year project “that will demonstrate that it is possible to end homelessness”.
Prince William is not hiding in an office or in meetings, though. Much like his mother would have done, he has chosen to take a hands-on role in volunteering with different organisations.
Mick Clarke, the CEO of The Passage, a Westminster-based organisation helping those sleeping rough, shared his experience with the Prince. He said ”I think he feels most at home when he’s just chatting away with our clients and hearing their stories. People can get very nervous but he’s very good at putting people at ease.”
Prince William was also quick to offer a hug to those who looked like they needed one. He also was happy to chat with patrons not only about their experiences of homelessness but their day or meal, to provide more of a sense of normalcy.
Prince William: We Can End Homeless is now airing globally on Disney+. It is also available to watch in the UK on the ITV Player.
