Prince William has admitted that, like many parents around the country, he’s just not ready for Christmas.
The Prince, along with the Princess of Wales and their three children will join The King and Queen along with other extended family for a traditional royal Christmas in Norfolk. The celebration will put an end to a difficult year for the Princess of Wales and His Majesty The King who have both been battling cancer.
At a seasonal event at Bulford, Wiltshire, for families of 1st Battalion Mercian Regiment, William, who is their Colonel-in-Chief said he is looking forward to the festivities. He spoke with soldiers and their families as he handed out bags of presents to children around a Christmas tree.
When the Prince was asked if he was excited for Christmas, he said: “Am I ready for Christmas? No, no way am I ready.”
He then went on to add how about 45 family members will be gathering in one room though people “normally spread out.”
While the Prince discussed his holiday plans and more with families, he also admitted he is not like some of us. He shared he does not own a Christmas jumper. He also did not put on a Santa hat, when asked why, he joked: “I didn’t know, you see that guy in the jacket, it’s his fault and I will be having a word.”
William also went home with Christmas cards for his family. One 10-year-old handed the future King a Post-It note with a drawing of him on it.
