The heir to the throne handed out prizes to the top performing cadets from the court at the parade which included music from the Band of the Royal Air Force College.

It ended with a flypast by a Typhoon aircraft, from Number 41 Squadron based at RAF Coningsby.

The Prince later met all graduating officers as well as their families at a celebration that followed the review.

The Commandant of the Royal Air Force College, Air Commodore John Lyle, had welcomed the Prince to RAF Cranwell where the officers had been training.

Also present was Lady Sarah McCorquodale, an older sister of Diana, Princess of Wales, who lives nearby.

The parade follows a busy week for Prince William who had travelled to Wales the day before for a series of engagements.

It came soon after the Princess of Wales announced that she had completed her preventative chemotherapy treatment. Her husband said she was doing well but still had a long way to go when he was asked about her health during his Welsh visit.
