Prince William gallops for a good cause as he takes part in charity polo match

Prince William hit the polo pitch or a good cause at the Out-Sourcing Inc. Royal Charity Cup Polo Cup 2024 at the Guards Polo Club in Windsor. The match has long been a staple on the Prince’s summer diary.

The event helps raise money for various causes and charities supported by William and his wife, the Princess of Wales. This year marked the 13th time William has participated in the charity match. His cousin, Peter Philips, was also there in support as he attended with his girlfriend, Harriet Sperling.

Some areas the charity event helps benefit include mental health, the Armed Forces, early years, conservation, and emergency services. While the official number has not come out yet, it’s expected this year’s event will have raised £13 million.

Often one would see Catherine on the sidelines of the match but she was not present this year. The Princess has been mainly out of the public eye after abdominal surgery in January. In March she announced she is undergoing cancer treatment. The Princess did attend Trooping the Colour and is expected to present the trophy at the Men’s Singles final at Wimbledon. However, Kensington Palace say her health remains the priority.

The Prince and Princess of Wales are known to share a passion for sports. That can be seen at the Royal Charity Polo Cup and Catherine’s patronage of All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.

As the polo match ended, Prince William posed for photos with his team mates who held aloft the winner’s trophy.
