Prince William feels “guilty and angry” after Omid Scobie’s explosive book Endgame was released because he failed to keep the “promise” he made to Princess Kate’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, a royal expert has claimed.

Endgame was released back in November and it unleashed a series of sensational claims about the Royal Family.

In the book, the author dedicated a whole chapter to the Princess of Wales, in which he hit out at her workload, gave her a brutal nickname whilst branding her “cold” and claimed she was “coachable” for her role within the Firm.

Scobie wrote that Kate’s workload is lower than other senior royals and dismissed her as “technically a part-time working royal” while adding that her lifestyle is something most parents could “only dream of”.

He also nicknamed her “Katie Keen” because palace press releases excuse her reduced workload by saying she is “keen to learn”.

In yet another swipe at the wife of the future King, the author took aim at her ability to speak in public, claiming that she “often stumbles on her words” and is “naturally timid”.

Meanwhile, he also alleged that the Princess of Wales is “cold if she doesn’t like someone” and “she wasn’t a fan” of Prince Harry’s wife, Meghan Markle.

Now royal expert Jennie Bond claimed the Prince of Wales is not pleased with the recent pressure his wife’s been under after he promised her parents to “protect and look after her”.

She told OK!: “William feels guilty and angry because he promised Kate’s parents that he would protect and look after her.

“The attacks from Omid Scobie were vicious, so William will feel guilty because all she’s done is fall in love with someone who happened to be a future king.

“There’s obviously a lot of baggage that comes with this – it’s a unique and different life which you’ve got to have a very thick skin for.”

The expert added that William has been left in awe of how Kate has taken her appointment as the Princess of Wales in her stride since Queen Elizabeth’s death in 2022.

She said: “Kate has demonstrated that she’s the real deal and William constantly shows that he’s hugely proud of her. Kate’s strength is drawn from the fact that she was given such a long apprenticeship – those nine or ten years that she was allowed to see a little bit of what life would be like in the royal court were completely invaluable.”
