Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway were joined by their son on the slopes this week in a rare appearance from the 19 year old.

The Crown Prince and Crown Princess visited Vivil this week, an organisation that helps people with intellectual disabilities enjoy skiing. The athletic club has training grounds in Asker, Bærum, and Oslo where athletes can take part in different adapted winter sports.

Prince Sverre Magnus joined his parents as they meth volunteers and athletes to learn more about their training and competitions, including some who will be representing Norway at the Paralympics in Turin, Italy.

Dressed warmly for the weather, Crown Prince Haakon and Prince Sverre Magnus both took to the slopes during their visit.

The 19 year old royal does not attend frequent engagements, largely attending family events and major royal events.

The prince’s older sister, Princess Ingrid Alexandra, celebrated her 21st birthday on 21 January. The princess, who is currently serving in the Norwegian Armed Forces and is continuing her training until the end of April, will become the second queen regnant of Norway when she takes the throne. She is currently second in the line of succession behind her father, Crown Prince Haakon.

Whether her younger brother follows her into the military remains unknown: Sverre Magnus has not shared his plans after graduating from school in June 2024.
