Prince Harry may have returned to his home country this week, but it seems that the Duke snubbed some of his family and friends during his brief visit. The Duke of Sussex, 40, flew to London from California this week to attend a two-day court hearing on Tuesday and Wednesday. The hearing was a result of Harry’s appeal against the Home Office and Ravec’s decision to reduce his security rights when in the UK – a decision made in 2020 after Harry and Meghan stepped down from royal duty and moved to the US.
While Harry was in the UK for a few days, it appears the duke did two major snubs while back in his home country. Not only did he not see the King – which is because the monarch was in Italy for a state visit – but Harry also missed one of his best friend’s weddings.
The Duke of Sussex was invited to his friend Charles Vivian’s wedding, which took place over the weekend in London.
It is believed the pair have been close friends for a number of years, with close confidant Charles having been at Harry’s wedding to Meghan Markle in 2018. Lord Vivian, 58, has also helped Harry with several charity trips over the years to Africa.
Despite this, it appears Harry did not have time to attend his friend’s wedding, depsite arriving in the UK shortly afterwards.
Speaking to The Daily Mail, the groom told the paper that Harry was invited to the wedding but did not attend. When asked why the Duke wasn’t present, the groom said: “I don’t know. He has a lot on.”
It was later revealed by The Daily Mail that the duke reportedly did not attend the wedding as a result of a lack of security, according to a source close to the duke.
Some also believe the fact Harry did not see his father the King was a snub to his family, however it is likely a meeting did not take place as a result of a diary clash.
This is because shortly after Harry arrived in his home country, the King left it to attend a four-day state visit in Italy with Queen Camilla.
It is believed Harry has not stayed in the UK to see his father upon his return, and instead jetted to Ukraine on Thursday with the Invictus Games Foundation. It is now believed that he will be returning home to Montecito in California.
