Prince Harry’s recent hilarious sketch has drawn comparisons between him and King Charles, as both of them “relish” getting the chance to flex their comedy muscles, according to one body language expert.

The Duke of Sussex filmed a clip of himself at his Montecito home to be shown at Stand Up for Heroes, a comedy stand-up show in New York that raises money for armed forces members.

Wearing his military medals and Royal British Legion poppy Harry happily poked fun at himself in his monologue, saying: “Due to the shockingly low representation of gingers last year, and out of respect for my fellow endangered species, here I am, reporting for duty. As someone who never gets scrutinised, I haven’t even had to prepare much.

“But out of an abundance of caution, I have been working on this particular act for quite some time and everyone I know tells me it’s perfect. And no, these aren’t people who just tell me what I want to hear, these are people like my finance manager, my lawyer, and of course, my reiki healer.”

Body language expert Judi James explained how the Prince appeared to feel about his performance, as she told The Mirror: “Harry not only suits this comedy role, his body language signals suggest he positively relishes it.

“Comedy does seem to flow in the genes as his father Charles absolutely adored doing comedy skits on stage during his time at uni.

“Whereas Charles’s attempts to emulate the Goons often had the effect of curling toes rather than prompting belly laughs though, Harry is actually quite genuinely funny here.

“His timing is good, with pauses in the right places and his sucked in lips and reflective eye-dart help add to the visual side of the gag.

“It’s so good to see the man who appears to take himself far too seriously these days use self-effacing humour here and he manages to deliver his lines well enough to create a balance between ‘getting it and sharing it’ and acting like he’s been duped.”

Ms James also suggested that Harry could be “yearning” for a career in comedy, given how he much seemed to enjoy appearing on TV with James Corden.

She also referred to his “talent for comedy timing” when he was promoting his memoir Spare, “suggesting Meghan is not the only performer in the family”.

There have been reports that Meghan too could be planning to pen her autobiography, which is likely to dish even more dirt on her time in the Royal Family.
