Prince Harry heckled by East 17 singer Brian Harvey outside court

His rant was so loud that the BBC’s discussion of the case live on-air had to be interrupted with an apology to viewers.

Nancy Kacungira, who was presenting the BBC broadcast, said: “I do apologise to our viewers, this is just the nature of live television. There is a lot of press here and there are people trying to take advantage of that opportunity to be heard.”

She later told viewers: “It was a single protester – I know it sounded like many – who was trying to make his voice heard on an issue he had and that’s why it got rowdy… It was just that one person causing a bit of a commotion.”

Joe Inwood, a BBC correspondent who was discussing the case with the presenter at the time of the interruption, tweeted a picture of the singer, adding: “So, turns out the protester who disrupted our live broadcast… Was Brian Harvey from E17! No wonder I lost my train of thought!”

The Duke of Sussex resumed giving evidence on Wednesday in his High Court claim against the publisher of the Daily Mirror over alleged unlawful information gathering.
