Prince Harry ‘has no need to be a US citizen’ as doubts over visa status rumble on | Royal | News

Prince Harry has listed the US as his permanent place of residence in official paperwork, but even so, it doesn’t change the fact that he’s British, says a PR Expert.

Daily Express US spoke to Press Box PR’s Lynn Carratt, who said: “He’s British. He’s born of the British monarchy. His dad is now the King. The late Queen was his grandma. You can’t get any more British.”

The PR expert said of the turn of events: “It is his permanent residence. His daughter was born there. He’s been there for some time now. I think it’s just paperwork.”

Prior to moving to the US, Harry and Meghan lived at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, but when they resigned as senior working members of the Royal Family, they were asked to vacate the premises.

Harry backdated the filing to match up with the date he moved out of Frogmore Cottage, June 29, 2023, which appears to be him sending a message to the monarchy.

“His heart isn’t in the UK anymore,” says Ms Carratt.

Harry’s visa is currently up for debate, whether or not he admitted to previous drug use as part of the application, with the PR expert saying: “That is going to play a part in it, isn’t it, he wants his visa to reside there full-time.”

“He’s obviously going to want to stay there, he’s going to want to stay with his family, his immediate family, his wife, and his children, they say that he’s indicating US citizenship, I think that would be a wrong move.

“There would be no need to be a US citizen. They still have cultural ties to the UK. I don’t think that’s on the cards.”

During an interview with Good Morning America earlier this year, Harry admitted to considering becoming a US citizen.

Host Will Reeve asked: “Do you feel American? ” Harry responded: “Do I feel American? No… I don’t know how I feel.”

But when Reeve asked the Duke what would stop him from applying for US citizenship, Harry replied: “I have no idea. I’m here standing next to these guys.

“The American citizenship is a thought that has crossed my mind, but certainly not something that is a priority for me right now.”
