Prince Harry is getting pushback for speaking publicly about his family, says royal expert. And Meghan Markle talking about her in-laws doesn’t help.
Political commentator Lauren Chen appeared on GB news to talk about Harry and Meghan’s antics and how it is considered unacceptable, on either side of the pond.
Chen says: “It doesn’t matter if you’re British, it doesn’t matter if you’re American, most decent people aren’t going to look at that type of behaviour in a favourable light.”
She says the problem is “compounded” and “there’s just no appetite for what Meghan Markle and Harry are trying to sell, anymore.”

Chen explains: “I think that’s been compounded with things like the Oprah interview or Harry’s book Spare, which he had no issue, with frankly dragging his family through the mud, a lot of Americans are looking at them thinking, ‘Okay, maybe the UK, the Brits, and even the British media — Meghan Markle has been so critical of — perhaps, they were onto something? Perhaps it wasn’t that everyone was unfairly picking on Meghan Markle.”
Adding: “There’s just no appetite, honestly, for what Meghan Markle and Harry are trying to sell, anymore. And, I think, it’s going to be a rude awakening, that you can’t just be royals in America and not produce anything and expect to be love and financed, they way you might be in the UK, if you’re a respected and participating member of the royal family.”
She backtracks a few years: “I think Meghan Markle had it in her head, that when she and Harry left the royal family that they would be welcomed as these returning heroes. I don’t think Meghan Markle was ever a hero in the first place.”
Chen then goes over Meghan’s CV: “She was an actress… on a television show… that had several series… good for her… but in a sea of a difference celebrities, each with their own following, Meghan Markle, frankly, wasn’t topping any lists.”
And where she is now: “I’m unsure why returning with Harry, after all of the drama scandal she caused in the UK, would make her more popular with the American public, but we’ve see now, from different approval polls, that certainly has not paid off.”
