Prince Harry claimed that Prince William “loathed it” whenever people thought of them as a “package deal” while they were at school.
In the Duke of Sussex’s bombshell book, Spare, he discussed his relationship with his older brother, Prince William.
While the two brothers attended the prestigious Eton College, Harry claimed that William had him pretend they didn’t know one another.
The duke wrote: “For the last two years, he explained, Eton had been his sanctuary.
“No kid brother tagging along, pestering him with questions, pushing up on his social circle. He was forging his own life, and he wasn’t willing to give it up.”

But he said his older brother’s actions came as no surprise as William reportedly “loathed it” when their late mother, Princess Diana, dressed them up in the same outfits.
Harry said William hated it when “anyone made the mistake of thinking us a package deal”.
Elsewhere in the Duke’s book, he complained about their shared bedroom at Balmoral, stating that William – as the heir – was given preference.
He explained that Balmoral boasted 50 bedrooms with one of them being divided for him and “Willy”.
Harry wrote: “Willy had the larger half, with a double bed, a good-sized basin, a cupboard with mirrored doors, a beautiful window looking down on the courtyard, the fountain, the bronze statue of a roe deer buck.
“My half of the room was far smaller, less luxurious. I never asked why. I didn’t care.
“But I also didn’t need to ask. Two years older than me, Willy was the Heir, whereas I was the Spare.”
Years later, and the brother’s relationship appears more fraught than ever as speculation grows as to whether Prince Harry will ever return to the Royal Family.
