Prince Harry bracing for ‘nightmare weekend’ as events clash | Royal | News

Prince Harry is bracing for a “nightmare weekend” as two major events are set to highlight his ongoing feud with King Charles.

On Saturday, June 15, the King is set to be joined by other members of the Royal Family to celebrate Trooping the Colour.

While the King’s actual birthday is in November, Trooping the Colour has marked the ‘official’ birthday of the British monarch for over 260 years.

The second major event comes as Father’s Day falls the following day, June 16.

Speaking to the Mirror, royal expert and author Tom Quinn said: “King Charles’ birthday and Father’s Day are both a nightmare for Harry.

“He knows the world will be watching to see whether he is big enough to reach out to his father. He is determined to try to ignore his troubled relationship with his father and he will certainly send a warm message.

“It’s easy to forget that Harry really does love his father, he just hates the fact that Charles seems always to support William when there is a family dispute.”

Mr Quinn also claims that Harry is struggling to schedule a call with his father, with the King said to not be satisfied with the odd phone call – especially when it comes to his two youngest grandchildren.

The monarch, who is currently undergoing cancer treatment, has told friends he is “not content” with only seeing his grandchildren on video calls. He has reportedly met Prince Archie, five, a handful of times and Princess Lilibet, who turned three earlier this month, only once.

Sources close to the King say he is “keener than ever” to focus on his family and his royal duties, as well as making up “for lost time” after being forced to step away from engagements after his diagnosis earlier this year.
