Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ‘snubbed’ by Netflix with latest ‘cheap’ shows | Royal | News

Now the Mail’s Diary editor Richard Eden, whilst Netflix could have provided a bigger budget for their next shows, they eventually went with “just a cookery show and polo”.

He said on the Palace Confidential: “I think it’s fascinating. Remember, there’s been rumours for ages that Prince Harry’s next project for Netflix would be about Africa. He loves Africa, it’s been central to his life and the idea was for him to go there and make a documentary.

“Well, that hasn’t happened and it makes you wonder… What has he been left with? A programme about the poshest sport that there is?

“Both these projects, you know we’ve heard all these rumours about their deal with Netflix coming to an end, at the end of this year probably. To be this bares it out.

“Both of these shows are very cheap. Netflix has got massive budgets, but instead, it’s just a cookery programme, filmed at a house in Montecito and polo which he [Harry] kind of does anyway.”

Although the shows’ respective titles and release dates are yet to be announced, the projects are said to be in early production.

Harry and Meghan have previously produced three series for Netflix via Archewell – their docuseries Harry and Meghan, Heart of Invictus and Live to Lead.
