Americans have lost almost all interest in watching Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tell their story on TV, an exclusive Daily Express US survey reveals.

An overwhelming 96 per cent say they would not watch another docuseries about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, with the rest – a mere four per cent – saying they would tune in.

The “alarming” online poll comes as the royal couple face a massive uphill struggle to renew their $100 million deal with streaming giant Netflix.

Their five year contract comes to an end in September next year and Hollywood experts are already predicting Harry and Meghan will have to look elsewhere to keep their production company Archewell afloat.

Two weeks ago, they were seen deep in conversation with Paramount CEO Brian Robbins during a visit to Jamaica, where they were guests of the studio at a lavish premiere for the film Bob Marley: One Love.

But their two other on-screen offerings, Live to Lead – a series of interviews with prominent world figures – and Harry’s passion project Heart of Invictus, both failed to strike ratings gold.

Pearl, an animated children’s series pitched by Meghan, was quietly cancelled in May 2022 and the only remaining Netflix project on Archewell’s slate is a romantic comedy based on the best-selling book Meet Me at the Lake.

Harry and Meghan also suffered the indignity in June last year of being branded as “grifters” by a Spotify executive when the audio giant cancelled their £15 million podcast contract after a single season of their show Archetypes.

A senior Hollywood studio production source said: “I’m not surprised the public has had enough of them, as this poll clearly shows. They’ve become a one-trick pony and that doesn’t work at the level at which they’re trying to operate.”

Last week, we exclusively revealed that Meghan is being offered a “dream role” return to acting in a big-budget spin-off of her hit TV series Suits, which is attracting huge new audiences for syndicated re-runs.

The studio source added: “Right now, that could be their best hope of guaranteeing a major cash flow when their Netflix deal ends.”

The Daily Express US poll asked one simple question: Would you watch another Harry and Meghan docuseries? The answer: No: 96%. Yes: 4%.
