She and a male companion then shared a joke with the Prince — who lives nearby — before he burst into laughter.
One passerby said: “He found it absolutely hilarious — but it was all in good spirits.”
Andrew, who was mired in a sex scandal, is said to be battling his brother the King, who allegedly wants him to move out of the 30-room Royal Lodge in the Windsor grounds.
The royal, seen driving with his protection officer, wore a red shirt under a blue jumper.
He appeared in high spirits before he went riding at around 10am.
Last month The Sun reported that Andrew wanted to write an explosive, tell-all Royal autobiography, dubbed Spare 2.0, to try to repair his tattered reputation.
Sources have described his proposed book as Spare 2.0 as it comes after Prince Harry’s bombshell memoir rocked the Royal Family.
But one insider said: “Everyone close to him is telling him it’s a stupid idea and he should just forget it.”
Two leading publishers are said to be interested in any autobiography.
