The King’s cancer diagnosis caught his illness in the very early stages.

As further details of His Majesty’s condition emerged, it was the Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, who confirmed that Charles III’s cancer was caught very early on.

Just hours after the announcement, Mr Sunak addressed the diagnosis as he spoke to BBC Radio 5 Live, saying ”all our thoughts are with him and his family. Thankfully, this has been caught early.”

The Prime Minister added ”he’ll be in our thought and our prayers, many families around the country listening to this will have been touched by the same thing and they know what it means to everyone. So we’ll just be willing him on and hopefully we get through this as quickly as possible.”

Buckingham Palace announced on February 5th 2024 that His Majesty had been diagnosed with a form of cancer. Concerns were first raised during a hospital procedure to treat a benign enlarged prostate. The Palace said that another matter had arisen during that and further tests led to the cancer diagnosis.

His Majesty began a schedule of treatment on February 5th and will stop all public facing engagements on medical advice while it continues.
