Portrait of a Queen on her birthday

While the King and Queen were busy on Wednesday attending the State Opening of Parliament, there was also another important event – Queen Camilla celebrated her 77th birthday.

The Royal Family shared a photo of The Queen on X from Their Majesties’ trip to the Channel Islands where The Queen was wished a very Happy Birthday. They also showed a video that was filmed on Guernsey on Tuesday where school children sang Happy Birthday to Her Majesty in the ancient language of the island of Sark.

Meanwhile, the Prince and Princess of Wales shared a photo of The Queen taken by Catherine to mark Her Majesty’s 75th birthday.

The Queen has settled into her role as consort and has had a very steady influence on the Royal Family over the last year as both The King and The Princess of Wales have been treated for cancer.

Queen Camilla supports a large number of organisations as patron and focuses on several meaningful causes.

She continues to prioritise work on violence against women both domestically and internationally and regularly speaks up on the issue that is still considered a taboo topic by many.

The Queen also focuses on supporting organisations and individuals who champion literacy. She works with several organisations like the National Literacy Trust and the Book Trust. Her Majesty also founded The Queen’s Reading Room, an online book club to bring people together through reading; TQRR has now grown to include an annual festival at Hampton Court Palace and a podcast.
