The Grand Ducal Family of Luxembourg are hosting Pope Francis on an Official Visit to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the first visit by a Pope to the Grand Duchy since 1985.

Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa received Pope Francis in an Official Welcome Ceremony at Findel Airport in Luxembourg, which ended with the presentation of the respective delegations and a few greetings for the young Catholics.
The Pope was then received by the Grand Ducal Family at the Palais Grand Ducal in Luxembourg City, for an Official Audience. Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa were joined by Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stéphanie, Prince Félix and Princess Claire, Prince Louis, Princess Alexandra and Nicolas Bagory, and Prince Sebastian along with respective children.
The Golden Rose presented to Grand Duchess Charlotte of Luxembourg by Pope Pius XII in October 1956 was on display. The Golden Rose was presented for her merits during the Second World War and to date, she is the last person to have received a Golden Rose.
Grand Duchess Maria Teresa is one of six individuals entitled to the Privilège du Blanc, the special Papal Privilege that allows certain Catholic Queens and Consorts to wear white in the presence of the Pope.
