The two episodes cover her childhood, war service, early romance with the late Prince Philip, motherhood and her sudden ascension to the throne aged 25.
“The series reveals the public and private moments which shaped Elizabeth’s formative years and helped her become Britain’s longest-serving and most loved head of state,” Channel 4 states.
Some of the photographs included in the series depict Princess Elizabeth learning how to read a map during military training, her and Princess Margaret’s first trip on the tube in 1939, and a collection of their pantomime performances at Windsor Castle during the war.
