King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium are hosting Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said of Oman on a State Visit to Belgium on December 3rd and 4th, a reflection of the excellent relations between the Sultanate of Oman and the Kingdom of Belgium, and an important step in the further strengthening of diplomatic and economic ties between the two countries.

Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said of Oman was received by King Philippe and Queen Mathilde in an Official Welcome Ceremony at the Royal Palace in Brussels that included a review of the Guard of Honour, and was followed by an introduction of the Oman Delegation and a Lunch.

In the afternoon, the Sultan of Oman was joined by King Philippe to be received by the Mayor of Brussels at the Town Hall, before walking through the Grand Place.

In the evening, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde hosted a State Banquet in honour of Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said of Oman (wearing the Order of Leopold) at the Royal Chateau of Laeken, at which both the King and Sultan gave Speeches.

Queen Mathilde wore the Wolfers Necklace Tiara and her Diamond Fringe Earrings with the Insignia of the Order of Oman.

King Philippe and Queen Mathilde paid an Official Visit to Oman in 2022.
