THE school summer holidays are coming to an end in a few weeks and parents will be looking ahead to getting ready for term starting again.

And this is also true for royal mum Kate Middleton, who will be preparing for her three children, Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, eight, and Prince Louis, five, to head back to class.

While the Prince and Princess of Wales are expected to undertake their annual trip to Balmoral in Scotland, the kids will be back at Lambrook school in a matter of weeks.

And Kate will no doubt be thinking ahead to prepping the necessary stationary and uniforms her children need.

Hopefully it’ll go more smoothly than one year, when Kate reportedly made a very relatable mistake when she was shopping for new school shoes for her kids, a source claimed to Hello! Magazine.

In 2018, the Duchess of Cambridge reportedly took a visit to Peter Jones in London but forgot one essential item – a pair of socks.

Instead, the children, who were wearing summer sandals at the time, are thought to have borrowed a pair from the department store so they could try on their new shoes to determine whether they fit properly.

Last year, Kate and Prince William enrolled their kids at the £7,000-a-term Lambrook School near Ascot, Berkshire.

George and Charlotte previously attended Thomas’ School in Battersea, south London, while Louis went to Willcocks Nursery in South Kensington, west London.

Fees for the three pupils will set the family back an estimated £53,508 per year, if they attend without boarding.

The private school is a nine-mile drive from their new abode near Windsor Castle, Adelaide Cottage.

The school offers the royal trio the chance to try out scuba diving, podcast making, cookery, polo – and there’s even a nine-hole golf course for the kids to enjoy in the school’s sprawling 52 acre grounds.

Chess, life-saving, bee-keeping and song-writing are also on offer at the “thriving” independent school, home to 620 pupils.

Last year, Prince George was shown around the prestigious Eton College— suggesting he is set to follow in his father’s footsteps.

The future King was joined by dad William — a former pupil with brother Harry — and mum Kate as he explored the £45,000-a-year boys-only school.

If students wish to go to Eton, where pupils start aged 13, families must act fast.

Parents of prospective pupils have to register an interest three years in advance as the school is so sought-after.

Other famous former old Etonians have included Boris Johnson and fellow former PM David Cameron.

Actors Eddie Redmayne and Tom Hiddleston and James Bond author Ian Fleming also went there.

There have been rumours the Wales’s were also considering Kate’s former school, Marlborough College, Wilts, for their children’s education.
