The Grand Duke and Duchess of Luxembourg have shared their joy at the news they are to become grandparents again.

In a short statement, the Grand Ducal Court said Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa had ”the great joy of announcing that Prince Felix and Princess Claire are expecting their third child.”

Felix, second son of Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa, and Claire already have a daughter, Princess Amalia, 9, and a son, Prince Liam, 6.

Their new baby will be seventh in line to the throne of Luxembourg and a seventh grandchild for the Grand Duke and Duchess.

Prince Felix and Princess Claire married in 2013 in France where they now live with their family.

Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa welcomed their sixth grandchild earlier this year with the arrival of Prince Francois, second son of Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume and Hereditary Grand Duchess Stephanie. He is a little brother for Prince Charles, aged three, who is second in line to the throne behind his father.

The Grand Duke and Duchess have two grandsons through their son, Prince Louis. Prince Gabriel is now 17 and Prince Noah is 15.

No due date has been announced for the latest addition to the Grand Ducal family.
