A MOTOR used by the Queen in one of her last public engagements is on the market for an eye-watering price.

The luxury golf cart was specially made for the Queen to enjoy the Chelsea Flower Show.

She only used the Garia motor twice at the show, covering just eight miles.

A special version of the high-end “Bride and Groom” Courtesy cart, it is expected to fetch around £25,000 at auction.

Iconic Auctioneers said: “The Courtesy is a multi-functional electric vehicle, designed and produced in Denmark.

“It is the ideal vehicle to transport guests around private areas in style.”

Another much speedier Royal motor is also up for grabs – the 1989 Middlebridge Scimitar which Princess Anne was driving when she was reportedly pulled over for speeding.

The motor was loaned to Anne after it caught her eye at its launch.

She placed an order, but was loaned a first-edition prototype after production delays.

The auctioneer added: “At some point during this period, she was enjoying No.1 down the Fosse Way when she was pulled over for speeding by a local officer.

“Amazingly, having let her off, and reminded her of the local laws, he was then forced to pull her over the very next day for the same crime.

“Naturally, the national press made the most of it and it featured in the evening news on television.

“No.1 became the most recognisable car in the country for a day or two at least.”

The Scimitar has covered just 50,500 miles and has a top speed of 140mph – and is also expected to sell for £25,000.

Both Royal motors will go up for auction on August 25 at the Silverstone Festival.
