During Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s first public appearance since welcoming their son, Prince Archie, the Duke of Sussex reportedly gave his wife a rather stern telling off in public.

The duo attended Trooping the Colour Parade back in 2019 to mark Queen Elizabeth’s birthday and gathered on the Buckingham Palace balcony with the wider Royal Family.

Experts have picked up on a less-than-joyous moment between the couple who appear to be squabbling on the balcony.

Video footage showed Meghan Markle turning around to speak to her husband, before a few words are exchanged and Meghan quickly turns back to face the crowd with a solemn expression.

Lip reading expert, Tina Lannin, told The Sun, that Prince Harry can be seen telling his wife: “No he hasn’t. Oh fine. Turn around.”

The exchange could have been Prince Harry letting Meghan know the parade was about to start, according to lip-reading experts.

Some fans believe Meghan was “blinking back tears” and that the exchange did not sit well with her.

X user, @justmythorts, said: “Well whatever Harry said definitely didn’t sit well with Meghan. It looks like she was blinking back tears. Body language is everything.”

Another social media user, @ladyteafor2, believed during the exchange, Meghan looked like a “scolded child”.

Video footage uploaded onto social media shows the couple standing next to Prince Andrew on the balcony, with other royal fans claiming Prince Andrew “looked annoyed” at Meghan Markle’s behaviour too.

Although the Insider reports Buckingham Palace declined to comment on the claims, royal commentator, Richard Fitzwilliams told the publication it was a “unhappy exchange”.

He said: “One of the important characteristics of being royal is to ensure that public appearances go off smoothly. In an era where social media, lip readers and long range cameras ensure nothing public is hidden, it is more important than ever.”

The late Queen’s birthday was on April 21, but was officially celebrated in June with Trooping the Colour, which has marked the official birthday of the British Sovereign for over 260 years.

Queen Elizabeth II took part in her first Trooping the Colour parade in 1947.

In 2019, over 1400 parading soldiers, almost 300 horses and 400 musicians from The Household Division and The Household Cavalry took part in the ceremony.
