Mike and Zara Tindall are “very similar” to the Prince and Princess of Wales due to their “humour and banter”, claims one body language expert.
Much like the senior working royals, Zara – who is Princess Anne’s daughter – and Mike have increasingly become two of the most popular members of the Royal Family.
Speaking on behalf of Betfair Casino, body language expert Darren Stanton, said: “Mike and Zara are very similar to William and Kate. I can tell there is a lot of humour, banter and sarcasm.
“They don’t take themselves too seriously and always appear to have a laugh with each other.
“We often see them putting on a strong front wherever they go, but they never fail to have fun. They have definitely become more and more involved in the Royal family and there is a lot more interest about them as a couple.”
Mr Stanton also said that the pair made it clear that there was a high level of trust between them.
He said: “I think the public are intrigued by Mike and Zara – and that is purely down to how they come across during events and engagements. They really enjoy each other’s company, and there’s a strong level of trust between them.
“You can tell they treat each other well and stick up for each other when times get hard. They have a really natural rapport and a deep connection.”
The couple also share two major similarities to Kate and William – they also got married in 2011 and have three children. Zara and Mike welcomed their eldest daughter, Mia, in January 2014. The pair later welcomed their second daughter, six-year-old Lena, in June 2018.
Following the birth of their two daughters, Zara gave birth to their third child – and only son – Lucas in March 2021.
As well as sharing similarities to Kate and William, the couple also share a sweet bond with them – as do all of their children.
Speaking after Kate and William’s appearance on his podcast, Mike wrote in his book, ‘The Good, the Bad & the Rugby – Unleashed’: “I think the podcast humanised them a little bit, and I kind of wish they’d let us put the uncut version out, because it would have blown the public away.
“They came across as down-to-earth, fully engaged, funny and knowledgeable…It was a far more enlightening chat than I expected, not because I thought they’d be dull (I already knew that they weren’t), but because I know how everything to do with the Royal Family is so carefully controlled.”
