In the second volume of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s documentary, the Duchess of Sussex expressed her horror after realising she had upstaged the late Queen during the Remembrance Day celebrations.

The fourth episode of Harry and Meghan’s bombshell docuseries features key moments from their lives leading up to their split from the Royal Family.

They claim their growing fame put them at odds with the late Queen, then-Prince Charles, Kate and Prince William during their visit to Australia at the start of their first official tour as a married couple in 2018, and again on Remembrance Day the same year.

Harry reflects on how the visit to Australia and Remembrance Day created a domino effect and put Meghan and himself in direct clash with the Royal Family.

He said: “The issue is when someone who’s marrying in, who should be a supporting act, is then stealing the limelight, or is doing the job better than the person who is born to do this. That upsets people. It shifts the balance.

“Because you’ve been led to believe that the only way that your charities can succeed and the only way that your reputation can be grown or improved is if you’re on the front page of those newspapers.”

Harry piled the blame on the media as he added: “But the media are the ones who choose who to put on the front page.

“First time that the penny dropped for her, M and I spent the night in a room in Buckingham Palace after an event where every single member of the family had been, including the Queen,” Harry said, reflecting on Remembrance Day back in 2018, where Meghan was featured predominantly on magazine covers.”

‌Meghan then said: “The next morning, they’d set up breakfast for Harry and I” as Prince Harry added: “And on the front page of The [Sunday] Telegraph, Meghan.”

An eye-rolling Meghan said: “I went, ‘Oh my God’.”

Reflecting on Meghan’s reaction, Harry said: “She was like, ‘But it’s not my fault’.

The couple’s Netflix show was among a string of opportunities taken by the Sussexes to share their experiences and claims about the Royal Family, which led to Prince Harry’s tell-all memoir Spare this year.
