Since quitting life as senior members of the Royal Family in 2020, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have not held back when it comes to criticising their time as senior royals.

From the Oprah Winfrey interview in 2021 to the Netflix docuseries in 2022, closely followed by Prince Harry’s memoir Spare the following year, the couple have been quick to criticise the monarchy and their time in it.

However, while their reputation dipped as a result of these public interviews and revelations, it appears that Harry, 40, and Meghan, 43, did try and deal with their issues privately too by contacting King Charles.

Royal expert Neil Sean previously said that Meghan reportedly wrote a letter to Harry’s father complaining about the “different rules” she had to follow while carrying out her royal duties, compared to other members of the Royal Family.

Speaking in a video uploaded to his YouTube channel, veteran royal-watcher Mr Sean claimed Meghan “wants answers” from the King about the restrictions put on her life as a senior royal.

He said: “Meghan Markle wants some answers from His Majesty the King. She tried to set up a meeting with him, she sent him a letter and wanted a one to one to explain exactly the problems she’s encountered ever since becoming a member of the British monarchy.

“The thing that really riles Meghan is that Fergie pops up on things like the ITV daytime show This Morning, Loose Women and billing herself as the Duchess of York, selling books and possibly doing adverts all under the Royal Family.

“Meghan and Harry seemingly don’t understand why it’s a different rule for her.”

Since quitting life as senior royals almost five years ago, the couple have been living in their Montecito mansion across the pond in America with their two children Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three.
