Meghan Markle reveals one thing she wants Archie and Lilibet to do in the future | Royal | News

Since quitting royal duty five years ago, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have shared little detail about their two children Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, three. Since 2020, the family now live in in Montecito, aiming to have a more ordinary life than than in the UK.

While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been clear on wanting to keep their children out of the public spotlight, there seems to have been a slight shift in that approach this week, with Meghan, 43, sharing more information about her children than ever. From discussing their accents to their food preferences, the duchess seems more willing to speak publicly about her children, especially in her new Netflix show and during her TV interview with Drew Barrymore. Meghan also spoke candidly to People magazine about Archie and Lilibet, sharing one hope she has for the future.

When speaking about her own childhood memories and interest in food, Meghan said that some of her favourite memories revolve around the food her mother Doria made her.

She then revealed that she hopes her own children, when they are grown up and have their own families, will come back to see her for “Mama Meals” – a sweet nickname the family have dubbed meals that have been cooked by Meghan herself.

She told People: “Some of my favorite childhood moments are the meals that my mom would make. She’d make a lot of soul food.

“I remember she’d taken a Thai cooking class, so every week we had Thai BBQ chicken and spring rolls.”

She continued: “I remember those flavors so well, and I want my kids to have those same formative memories of things that I cook.

“We call them Mama Meals, and those are the ones that I hope they come back to when they’re older, when they’re married, and they have their own kids, and they go, ‘Oh, let’s have a Mama Meal.’

“And it’s the same roast chicken I’ve been making since they were little.”

Meghan, who has a close relationship with her children, also told the magazine she wants them to feel “proud” of her business ventures when they are older, including her new lifestyle brand As Ever.
