Meghan Markle has broken her silence today after her estranged father issued brutal criticisms against her new Netflix show. Thomas Markle, who has not been in contact with Meghan since a series of problems in 2018, slammed the Duchess of Sussex’s new show “With Love, Meghan”, saying that she was “faking” her expressions to try and be perfect.
In a brutal statement, Thomas also told The Mail: “Unfortunately Meghan has never been authentic. She has to think about everything. She’s not spontaneous.” While Meghan, 42, has not publicly responded to her father’s claims, she has instead taken to social media to show the positive feedback she has received since the show aired on March 4.
Taking to her Instagram stories, Meghan posted videos made by her viewers who were following the recipes shown in the series, which was made up of eight episodes.
Meghan wrote: “Love seeing how inspired you are by With Love, Meghan. Keep up the beautiful work!”
The positive feedback comes just one day after Meghan’s dad was particularly brutal about the show and his daughter.
He told The Mail: “Everything she says is pre-planned and rehearsed. It makes me laugh because I know all her looks and expressions.
“I know when she’s faking it for the cameras. She’s trying so hard to be perfect that she tenses up every time the camera is on her.”
Meghan’s cooking series has been renewed for a second season, despite having received mixed reviews since its launch last week.
It has not yet been confirmed when the second season will be released.
