The Liechtenstein Princely Family gathered for the annual National Day (Staatsfeiertag) Celebrations in Vaduz on August 15th, this year marking the 20th Anniversary of Hereditary Prince Alois’s Regency.
The Liechtenstein Princely Family, led by Prince Hans Adam II along with Hereditary Prince Alois and Hereditary Princess Sophie, walked from Vaduz Castle for the National Day (Staatsfeiertag) Ceremony in the meadow outside the Castle.
Hereditary Prince Alois, who marks the 20th Anniversary of his Regency this year, gave a speech:
The people of Liechtenstein can be grateful for the stability of the country.
In times of many armed conflicts around the world, the situation in Liechtenstein remains safe and the country is spared from disasters.
However, our stability is not guaranteed in the long term and we in Liechtenstein are not isolated from global problems and challenges.
In the coming years, the importance of stability and security as a location factor is likely to continue to grow. If we want to preserve this advantage for the future, we cannot stand still, but must devote more attention to the issue of security.
We live in uncertain times and these are likely to continue in the coming years. We should therefore pay particular attention to security policy. In addition to energy security, a smart foreign security strategy and joining the IMF are crucial to its success.
Following the State Ceremony, the entire population of the Principality was invited to Castle for a drink with the members of the Princely Family.
